The inspiration for the Citywalker Espadrilles came to Cristian Zuzunaga during a stroll through the bustling streets of Shanghai. An elderly local, noticing his frequent city wanderings, turned to him and exclaimed, “City walker!” This chance encounter led Cristian to realise the need for footwear designed to withstand the demands of urban exploration, especially in warm climates.

Citywalker is a collection of eight unisex espadrilles, blending Eastern and Western influences, much like many other Zuzunaga creations. Drawing inspiration from traditional Catalan espadrilles and tai chi shoes, these espadrilles combine heritage and modernity with distinctive style.

Crafted with high-quality digitally printed cotton canvas, each pair features Zuzunaga’s signature pixel prints. The traditional jute base is reinforced with an additional rubber sole to enhance durability, while a padded insole ensures comfort on city adventures. Handmade in Spain, these espadrilles are unique pieces of wearable art, with each pair presenting countless print combinations due to the expansive repeat size of the design.
