Cities behave like living systems. They grow, accumulate, change and mutate over time. Yet we never experience a city as a whole, only through fragments: walking at street level, looking from above, through windows and reflections, in changing light and from shifting points of view.

Skyline Under Construction explores this continually evolving condition. Through photography, collage, print and other processes, fragments are isolated, repeated, overlapped and reorganised. Individual elements accumulate into larger formations; skylines emerge, fragment and dissolve.

New York and London provide recurring points of reference, but the works are not fixed representations of particular places. The city remains under construction — by architecture and human activity, but also by movement, perception and time.
