For Un Bon Avocat, a film by Tristan Séguéla, Cristian Zuzunaga developed the film’s typographic and graphic language through art direction, title design, typography and printmaking.
A bespoke alphabet was created through physical processes of printing, pressure, ink and erosion. Each letter was printed by hand, scanned and reconstructed digitally, retaining the irregularities and material presence of the original prints.
The typography evolves with the film: initially structured, it progressively destabilises and breaks apart. Rather than applying a digital effect to an existing typeface, transformation is embedded in the making process itself.
